To hike a few days, a week or even longer through the Alps, with exciting encounters and relevant information on site? Those interested are welcome to join the whatsalp tour. Except travel and accommodation expenses, participation in the whatsalp hike is free of charge. Participants have to book their overnight stays by themselves.
The route is along official hiking trails and does not include any particular hiking difficulties. An average endurance is required for ascents and descents of usually max. 1200 meters, often much less. Information about the hiking route with distances as well as ascents and descents can be found here. We recommend absolutely the use of hiking maps (Austria: freytag & bernd 1:50’000, South Tyrol: Tabacco 1:25’000, Switzerland: Swiss Topo 1:50’000, Italy: IGC 1:50’000, France: ign 1:25’000).
The members of the whatsalp core group are not trained guides, participation in the hike by co-hikers takes place on their own responsibility. Overnight stays will take place in guesthouses and cabins, which are reserved independently by co-hikers.
Co-hikers please fill in the registration form below. Our hiking secretariat at Alpen-Initiative will then contact you and provide you with further information. If there will be changes in your planning, please give us a short message.
If you have any questions about the hike, please write to wandern@whatsalp.org or call the secretary of Alpen-Initiative Tel +41 41 870 97 81.
